Better Pianist image
If you start playing the piano not just for fun, your main goal in mind is to become a better pianist than you are yesterday. A snail’s pace progress is still a progress. Every day you continue to learn and every day you become a better pianist. Here are the following tips to keep in mind while practicing.

1.    Practice everyday
Even if it’s just for an hour or at least 30 minutes, the fact that you can practice every day will allow you to be a better pianist. Professional pianists nowadays practice more than five hours a day. You need to be like them, but at least find some time to sit down with your piano before you call it a day.

2.    Always listen to the song that you are playing
If you are practicing a certain song, download the piano cover and listen to it. Listen very carefully. Notice the changes in tempo, phrasing, and the dynamics. You can listen to it while you’re on your way to school or work. Also, it will allow you to recognize the emotion of the pianist while playing.

3.    Don’t stick to rules religiously
This may seem counterproductive, but you need to be yourself if you want to play the piano accordingly. You don’t need to stick to all the technical skills otherwise you’ll end up as a piano-playing robot. Make sure that you play as what your heart tells you to do so.
